In this lesson, we’re looking at the different types of rolls we use in BJJ. You’d be surprised how many people struggle with rolls. It’s totally normal!
When we’re kids, we learn how to do a basic somersault and maybe a backroll, but if you’re not rolling around on the floor regularly, it’s natural that rolling becomes a strange movement.
For most people, the front shoulder roll is a relatively straightforward movement. Back rolls are a little harder, and berimbolo rolls are harder still.
Remember, the primary goal of rolling is to protect your neck and head. If you’re rolling over your neck or face, something has gone wrong!
